The Content List widget is great for keeping everyone in your community updated on recent articles, upcoming events, key discussions, and more. Filter content by type, space, or tags to focus on specific areas. Filter by the author to feature specific users' work, or filter by publication date to keep only the most relevant information visible. The Content List widget is a very flexible component you can use to highlight important content throughout your intranet.

Subtypes of Content List Widgets

Content List Widget Subtype	Often used for:
Content List	The content List subtype is great for showcasing recent and important content on the homepage and space homepages.
Top Content List Tabs	The Top Content List Tabs subtype is great for promoting recent and popular content.
Field Options List	The Field Options List subtype helps you create quick links for departments that people can use to find the people with the skills and expertise they need.
Service Now	With Service Now integration, you can view your Service Now incidents in Communifire.

Content List

The Content List subtype displays content from spaces. The Content List subtype is great for showcasing recent and important content on the homepage and space homepages.

Properties

Property	Description
Title	The widget title appears at the top of the widget.
Content types	Select the content types to appear in this widget. Leave blank to include all content types. Certain content types have additional options. See the table below.
Space	Select the spaces to include content from. Leave blank to include content from all spaces. Check "Set space automatically from page" to populate the widget with content from the space selected in the Details pane.
Authors	Select the authors whose content will appear in the widget. Leave blank to include content by all authors.
Logged in user	Check to display only content created by the logged in user.
Tags	Start typing a tag to filter the content in the widget. Leave blank to include content with any tag.
Featured	Select the type of content to display: All: Featured and non-featured content. Yes: Featured content only. No: Non-featured content only.
Required Reading Type	Select the type of content to display: All: Any content. Only Required Reading: Only content marked as required reading. Only Confirmed Content: Only required reading the user has read. Only Unconfirmed Content: Only required reading the user hasn't read.
Total items	Max number of items to display
Sort by	Most Recent Most Viewed Most Commented Highest Rated Most Liked Title Sort Order — Only available when Wiki is selected in the content types filter. Also, filter by space, and select the parent wiki. Sort order: Ascending Descending

Additional properties are available when you filter the Content List widget by content type and/or space.

Articles, blog, CMS page, event, idea, or video and space	A Category setting appears in the Advanced tab. This sets the category of the content to display. Leave blank to display the content of all categories.
Badge	Parent content: The recognition program to display badges from. Type: Kudos or challenge badges.
Challenge	Recent Challenges Completed: Check to display a list of recent badge challenge activity.
Event	Upcoming Events: Check to display upcoming events.
File, photo, or wiki and space	Parent content: For files, parent content sets the folder to display files from. For photos, parent content sets the album to display photos from. For the wiki, parent content sets the parent wiki to display wikis from.

Content published since	How many days, weeks, months old the content can be. This setting takes precedence over the total items setting. For example, if you set total items to 5, and content published since 1 week ago, if the 5th item was published over a week ago, it will not appear in the widget.
Custom Date Range	Check to enter a custom publication date range for content.

Roles

Choose the roles that can view this widget.

Unrestricted	This allows any role to see this content.
Own Profile Only (Only on Profile Page)	Only the logged in user will see his own content. (If selected, no other options will be allowed besides Direct Reports Profile)
Direct Reports Profile (Only on Profile Page)	The person the user reports to will see this content. (If selected, no other options will be allowed besides Own Profile Only)

As a use case example, Direct Reports Profile would be useful for showing the required reading of a user to only a user and/or a user's manager. No other user would be able to see this.

Top Content List Tabs

The Top Content List Tabs sub type displays the most recent, most viewed, highest rated, and most commented content in a tabbed view. The The Top Content List Tabs sub type is great for promoting recent and popular content.

Footer

You can configure a link at the bottom of the widget to open more content, specific content, or any URL. Footer links let you easily direct people to additional resources from a widget.

To enable the Footer tab, first check Show footer in the Advanced tab. Then configure a footer link in the Footer tab.

Field	Description
Text	Enter the text to display for the footer link.
Item type	Select the item type:
	URL	Opens a specific URL.
	Content List	Opens a space content page. Select the space and content type.
	Content	Opens a specific piece of content.
	Create	Opens a create content page. Select the space and content type. Select Not Specified in the space filter to open the create modal instead.
	Personal	Links to personal pages (e.g. my Activity Stream, Bookmarks, Calendar, etc).
	Recognition	Opens the recognition modal.
	Javascript	Runs Javascript code.
