Hi,

If I would like to override this template, how do I insert two static contents as the first two contents that will be shown on this carousel?

Hey Arvin,

      Modify the existing template or create a new template. Add two items before the loop:

   <div class="carousel-inner">

<!-- Item 1 -->
                    <div class="item">
                        <img src="yoursite.com/image.jpg" alt="My Article" />
                        <div class="carousel-caption">
                            <h4><a title="My Article" href="yoursite.com/article.html">My Article</a></h4>
                            <p>Summary Description</p>
                        </div>
                    </div>

<!-- Item 2 -->
                    <div class="item">
                        <img src="yoursite.com/image.jpg" alt="My Article" />
                        <div class="carousel-caption">
                            <h4><a title="My Article" href="yoursite.com/article.html">My Article</a></h4>
                            <p>Summary Description</p>
                        </div>
                    </div>

<!-- Dynamic Content -->
                {{#each Contents}}
                    <div class="item">
                        <img src="{{ContentImageURL}}" alt="{{{Title}}}" />
                        <div class="carousel-caption">
                            <h4><a title="{{{Title}}}" href="{{ContentURL}}">{{{Title}}}</a></h4>
                            <p>{{{Summary}}}</p>
                        </div>
                    </div>
                 {{/each}}

            </div>

How do you control the transition / fade-out between slides?

Hey Arvin,

In the following line:

jQuery(carouselSelector).carousel({
            interval: 5000
        });

Set your desired time (in milliseconds).

How about the way the slide transitions? Are there any other modes besides fade out and fade in?

Hey Arvin,

You can remove "carousel-fade" from the template to remove the fade effect. You can also create your own transition effect using CSS and HTML.

Somehow this is creating a lag when there is a link in the content.  Anyone else experiencing this?

Hey Arvin,

Is the link in the body or summary? Is the link an @mention?

It's a mix, within aggregated content. Not an @mention. May be Shannon Brammer can elaborate on this matter.

The carousel buttons do not work to scroll through our advance content.

We're still having issues with this. On some of the content, the carousel freeze up and cannot advance to the next or previous content until a few seconds.

Hey Arvin,

     The carousel above is for Communifire 6. You are using a version for Communifire 5.2 which was customized for your site. Seems there are bugs in that version, can you please submit a private case so we can help there.

Thank you

Matt Trujillo When I select the carousel template it does not show up the same way as pictured. How do I modify the template to mirror the way yours is showing?

Hey Meghan,

Is this for the carousel on your homepage? Which parts are different from the carousel pictured on this page?

This is for one of the spaces.  When I set up my content list following those instructions I get this.

Hey Meghan,

Try widening your browser window. You can also edit the page and move the carousel into a wider column. Does it look better then?

The example page has them post three across the same way I did. Even with two across this is my view.

Hey Meghan,

Try putting the carousel in a column that is 7 units or larger: Edit the page, click the Layout tab, and drag a preset layout onto the page or create your own. I've highlighted the layouts that would work below.

Then move the carousel widget into the column that is 7 units or larger.

Files such as .pdfs do not look like they have the capability to upload or include a featured image like you can in Articles or Blogs. This messes up the Carousel because when the content is displayed on the carousel it is using the generic "missing photo" picture. Am I missing something or is there a way around thiis?

Hi Danny,

That's correct, files don't have featured images and will show a generic photo in the Carousel template. You may prefer to use a different template, such as the Icon List Template , for files.
