Just a quick question about the time settings, does it apply both weekly and daily digest emails?  And the format, it says in minutes:seconds in the config window.  So the format should look like this 11:00:00?

Thanks

Yes... it is the same time of day for weekly as dailiy digests.

Just hours and minutes is fine. But keep in mind that it uses 24 hour clock, so if you want 11p UTC you'd use 23:00.

The weekly digests do not show updated/new documents or photos?

The weekly digest only includes new content. If it included updates, the email would be insanely long.

You can add Photos and Files to the weekly digest email by adding the Content Type codes to the System Property WeeklyDigestEntityTypesCSV.

Can you manually send a weekly digest email to a user? For example if we added a user on a Tuesday, but our weekly digest goes out on Monday and we want the new user to be able to see our most recent weekly digest, are we able to manually send it to them?

Also, if email notifications are turned off, but weekly digest email is turned on/selected in my preferences, will the user still receive the weekly digest emails each week?

Hey Kayla,

You can't manually send a weekly digest yet, we are going to add this ability in the coming months. You will also be able to trigger a daily digest.

Yes, check out System Properties > SendDigestsWithoutEmailNotifyEnabled

Great - thank you!

If we set SendDigestsWithoutEmailNotifyEnabled to TRUE that would mean they would get the weekly digest no matter if they are or are not subscribed to email notifications correct?

Is there a reason why a couple of our users are saying they have not received any of the weekly digest emails? Is the a way for me to check to see who is and is not receiving them or verify the email was sent? We have SendDigestsWithoutEmailNotifyEnabled set to true currently and when we bulk imported everyone we auto-subscribed them to receive the weekly digest. We have hid this field in my preferences, so users are not able to unsubscribe from weekly digest emails, but we have heard from a couple of people they have not receive the emails.

Hey Kayla,

      Correct.

Send them a test email using using Mass Email . Did they receive the email?

We want to verify they can receive email first. Sometimes the weekly digest won't send if there wasn't enough content created that week. System Properties > WeeklyDigestPopularCount determines the amount of content that must be created in spaces they follow to send the digest for that user.

Hi Matt,

Yes, they did receive the Mass email I just sent out. They are members of most all of the same spaces as myself and I have received the email every week, so they should have as well. Is there a way to check an email log and see if it was sent to them?

Hello -- is it most viewed ever or just most viewed for that week?  I ask because it is the same result week after week simply due to when the document was posted (an older document will always have the most views in total)

WeeklyDigestPopularCount Sets the number of most viewed items to show for each content type in each space

Hi Teresa,

The WeeklyDigestPopularCount is set to show the most viewed items that week. It is possible that you get the same result because it is a highly trafficked page every week.

Hi, is possible to list the 6 or most recently added articles, instead of just the most popular ones (or ones added within the last week) in a weekly digest?

Hey Dan,

It isn't possible to do this. The weekly digest can only include new content from the past 7 days and popular content.

You can change the number of items in the popular content section. Go to Control Panel > System > System Properties and set WeeklyDigestPopularCount. Set it to 0 to remove the popular content section altogether.

Thank you Grace. I have another question, it seems that my test weekly email is only listing the popular Wiki pages for just one of my spaces. Am I missing a setting to include other spaces and their respective types?

Hey Dan,

Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced System Utilities and Rebuild Activity Log Index .

Thank you for the suggestion, but I am still only seeing listed in the email "Popular This Week" for only one of my 18 spaces. And again, only for type wiki pages (not articles, etc, even though I have those indicated in my "WeeklyDigestEntityTypesCSV" setting.)

Also, here's something that's happening in my User Settings ( I am a site admin). Any thoughts?

Hey Dan,

We are looking into the popular content issue.

For the preferences page, the digest emails need to be enabled for the options to appear in preferences. Go to Control Panel > System > System Properties and set EnableDailyDigestEmails to 1 and EnableWeeklyDigestEmails to true.

Ok, but will making those settings start sending emails to all my members? I don't want to do that, I am only testing template changes.

Hey Dan,

Yes, if enabled, the digests will send at the time set in the system property DigestEmailsTime (in UTC). The system property WeeklyEmailDay also applies for the weekly digest email.

Hey Dan,

It looks like you're only subscribed to the activity email for one of your spaces. You will need to click the Get Activity Email link in the Space Menu for each space. Note that you must enable the weekly digest in System Properties and check the weekly digest option in preferences in order to see the Get Activity Email link in space menus.
