Audience Overview | Communifire Documentation

The Communifire analytics feature collects data regarding site traffic and other metrics and displays that data in easy to understand visualizations. We report high level analytics for your Intranet; for more detailed analytics we recommend implementing Google Analytics which is very simple to do. Please read further to learn how to implement Google Analytics.

Communifire analytics produces visualizations for the following site traffic data:

• Visits - Total number of visits from members
• Unique Visitors - Number of unique visitors
• IP Address - Number of IP addresses from visits
• Page Visits - Number of visits on any page from members
• Member Visits - How many members have visited
• Content Type Distribution - How many of each content type has been published

Communifire analytics also includes data about users' browsers and operating systems.

Using Analytics

You can filter analytics in the following ways:

Hovering your mouse over the line graphs will display detailed numbers as you move the mouse across the graph.

The Content Type Distribution chart shows the number of publications of all the content types (articles, blogs, etc.) for the specified date period. Hovering your mouse around the graph will display information for the different content types.

Operating system and browser information are at the bottom of the page.

Content Analytics

On content homepages, you can view content by

• Most Viewed
• Highest Rated
• Most Commented

You can also create custom dashboards using Page Builder to display content analytics. Using the Content List Widget , you can display content sorted by

• Most Viewed
• Most Commented
• Highest Rated

Google Analytics

Google Analytics provides in-depth analytics of your Intranet. Billions of sites across the Internet use Google Analytics which is why we highly suggest implementing their tracking code to provide enhanced data about your Intranet.

1. Sign up for a Google Analytics account here.
2. Create a site in Google Analytics, use your Intranet domain name. 
3. Retrieve your tracking code from Google Analytics
4. Insert your tracking code in Header Scripts of Header and Footer Scripts 

Additional Analytics

Enterprise customers can request access to their Communifire SQL database and use tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and other data warehousing tools to build and run your own reports and analytics from Communifire.

Communifire collects all kinds of data, and our customers often use these tools to tie into specific database tables. You might want to check out View User Activity and Recent Activities for additional data that might be helpful.
