Your Activity Stream is the central hub for all the latest updates in your spaces. The Activity Stream shows a real-time stream of the latest activity and posts in all your spaces. Your connections' activity also appears on your Activity Stream, so you can keep up with what they're working on and who they're working with. The Activity Stream brings together everything that's important to you, ensuring you never miss out on new content and activity in your spaces.
From the Activity Stream, you can view and interact with new content. For example, you can see up to 9 photos added to an album, play videos directly from the feed, like content, comment on wall posts, and jump to a detailed view of posted content and user profiles.
The right column includes the following widgets:
Wall updates are a simple and effective way to communicate with people and groups.
There's a wealth of content on the Internet that you can link to and share in your community. In addition to linking to external content, links to videos posted to popular video sites like YouTube, Metacafe and Vimeo will play directly from within the Activity Stream.
Note: If you like you can remove the URL from the What's on your mind box. The video or link will remain. You can replace the URL with any message you want.
To change the thumbnail image for the video or link, click the left or right arrow to cycle through the available images. Click the box next to "No Thumbnail" to choose no image.
@Mentions are a great way to get someone’s attention or direct other readers to a particular user. When you tag a person with an @mention they will receive a notification - see Notifications . @Mentions are public, visible to everyone and link to the user's profile.
Use #hashtags to categorize and add context to your posts.
When someone clicks on the hashtag in your wall post they will be taken to a search screen showing other content on the site tagged with the same keyword.
Comments allow community members to have a discussion with you and with each other. When you write a new post, members can respond by adding a comment. When your post receives a comment or someone replies to one of your comments you will receive a notification.
You can post to another user's Activity Stream if they are connected to you. They will receive a notification about the wall post. Post on someone's wall to ask a question, start a conversation, or follow up on something.
To post on someone's wall, first visit their profile then click Activity Stream.
Enter a message in the What's on your mind? textbox, then click Post.
You can filter your activity stream to display wall posts, new content, recognition activity, or all.

Is it possible to upload an image to the activity stream as well?
You can only upload images/files to the Space Activity Stream at this time. You will notice an image and file attachment icon when you click on the What's on your mind box on the Space Activity Stream page.
Hi there. We have people making posts on the My Activity Stream page that ends up in no space. Can we specify a default space for any posts initiated on the My Activity Stream page?
Hey Rebecca, great recommendation. We hope to improve this area so you can select any space activity stream as well as post to any space activity stream from the My Activity Stream page. We don't have an ETA, we hope next year.
What is the thinking behind being able to post to your own activity stream? It doesn't seem to be visible to anyone else and I've been told by users that they've been posting there for awhile thinking that it displays to everyone.
Posts to My Activity Stream are visible to a user's Connections .
