On the right hand side of the My Activity Stream page is the Activity Ticker. The Activity Ticker features finer details of activity in the community, such as commenting, liking, and up voting. It provides a quick view into content from all the users and spaces you are connected to and have permission to see.
In addition to displaying updates available through your My Activity Stream , the Activity Ticker also includes activity on content you are not following in spaces or content your friends are engaging with, but you may not have discovered yet or chose not to follow closely. This expands the information you have access to and helps you connect with information that may interest you.
