You can customize the org chart user card, default display settings, and valid org chart leaders in the Control Panel.

Org Chart User Card

The org chart user card appears on the right when you click a user in the Organizational Chart .

Customize the Org Chart User Card

You can customize the org chart user card.

1. Click the gear icon > Control Panel > People > User Profiles > Org chart.
2. Edit the Org chart user card template.
3. Edit the template.
   • Use the Insert token menu to add user profile fields. To add a system resource, start typing under Insert resource then click the resource. Tokens and resources are added where your blinking cursor is.
4. Click Save.

Example: Adding a Field to the Org Chart User Card Template

In this example, we add a Pronouns profile field to the org chart user card. To learn how to add custom profile fields to your site, see Add User Profile Field .

1. In the editor, copy <div class="user-prop">{{{field:Email}}}</div> .
2. After <div class="user-prop">{{{field:City}}}{{#if ||field:City||}}{{#if ||field:State||}}, {{/if}}{{/if}}{{{field:State}}}</div> , hit enter and paste.
3. In the new line, delete {{{field:Email}}} .
4. In its place, type Pronouns: .
5. Keep the cursor in front of < (the left angled bracket).
6. In the Insert token menu, select Pronouns. {{{field:Pronouns}}} is added where the cursor is.
7. Click Save.

Default Node Properties

You can set the default node properties for the org chart nodes. You can experiment with different node settings first by opening the org chart then clicking the gear dropdown toward the upper right corner.

1. Click the gear icon > Control Panel > People > User Profiles > Org chart.
2. Set the following:
   1. Node height: Adjusts the vertical height of the nodes. Default value is 65.
   2. Node spacing: Adjusts the vertical space between nodes. Default value is 50.
   3. Link width: Adjusts the horizontal space between nodes. Default value is 300.
3. Click Save.

Valid Org Chart Leaders

The Browse > People > Org chart page starts from the first person who has direct reports and no supervisor. If there are multiple people on the site who have direct reports and no supervisor, these users and their direct reports form incomplete branches. An incomplete branch could override your organization's actual org chart. To prevent this from happening, you can set a valid org chart leader to ensure that the correct org chart is always displayed.

The valid org chart leaders setting can also be used to support multiple org charts. You can have multiple org charts on your intranet, with multiple leaders who don't report to anyone. Browse > People > Org chart will display one org chart. The other org charts can be accessed by going to the profile of a user who is in the org chart, and clicking the Org chart button. You can link to all the org charts in a Page Builder page or anywhere else.

1. Click the gear icon > Control Panel > People > User Profiles > Org chart.
2. In Valid org chart leaders, enter users.
   • Note: The Browse > People > Org chart page will load the org chart of the first person you enter here. To view the org chart of other org chart leaders, you must visit their profile and click the Org chart button.
3. Click Save.

Note: This setting is not required and will slow down restarting the site and validating new supervisors when they are changed.
