Badges are a great way to encourage participation in your intranet. You can create challenge badges that are earned through specific actions in your intranet (defined by you). Each challenge badge has a process that specifies the activity steps a user must complete to earn the badge. Or create kudos badges that people can award to one another.
Is there a plan to add more action type for the award process? Or is there a way to create custom action type? Thanks.
That area will be getting some significant attention in 2017 but it is not certain that there will be significant new actions or custom actions as the actions list is already pretty robust.
Is it possible to create custom emails based on a badge? For example, if someone got the 'Event Planner' badge they would receive an email with info specific to that badge vs if someone got the 'Videographer' badge?
The email notifications for badges include the badge summary. You can add the email content to the badge summary. There isn't a way to customize the emails for individual badges otherwise.
The video above shows an example of a "5 Year Work Anniversary" badge (timestamp 1:04). How would we configure such a badge?
Hi Hillwood Webmaster,
An anniversary badge would have to be awarded manually. We do not have a way to automate this type of badge.
Could I automate it through the REST APIs?
Also, is there a way to display on user's profile page the list of badges he/she has earned?
You could POST /api/recognition with the variables int toUserID, int awardContentID, string reason (reason being the message that will appear along with the wall post for the badge).
The list of badges a person has earned or received is available on the Recognition tab of the Profile page. There is, at present, no widget to display these on the profile page directly.
