Profanity filters work by identifying words that you deem inappropriate and then substituting them for the censored word or symbols you want to use.

1. Type the inappropriate word you want to replace.
2. Type a colon. (:)
3. Type the word or characters you want to replace the inappropriate word. Do not use spaces.

Put each rule on its own separate line.

The words you want to replace must be spelled exactly the same way that you have entered them in order to be censored. You may want to enter misspelled versions of profanities or versions that involve symbols, such as using @ in place of "a" and $ in place of "s".

Partial matches and punctuation

Words with a partial match aren't changed. (e.g. dirtywording and dirtywords are not changed to cleanword )

Words with punctuation are changed. (e.g. dirtyword's is changed to cleanword's )
