SharePoint and OneDrive Sync Administrator Setup | Communifire Documentation

Axero supports a two-way sync between Files and SharePoint and OneDrive. The integration can be set up in approximately 1 hour. SharePoint and OneDrive sync has the following features:

• Your SharePoint and OneDrive files will appear in Files (and sync automatically every 3 hours)
• You can upload files to SharePoint and OneDrive in Communifire
• You can download SharePoint and OneDrive files in Communifire

Step 1: Configure the Azure App

1. Visit the Azure Active Directory admin center.
2. In the left side menu, click Azure Active Directory.
3. Click App registrations.
4. Click New registration.
5. Enter a name for your application.
6. In Redirect URI, select Web and enter your site URL followed by /oauth2/sharepoint/callback. (e.g., https://myintranet.com/oauth2/sharepoint/callback or https://myintranet.communifire.com/oauth2/sharepoint/callback).
7. Click Register.
8. Copy the Application (client) ID and Directory (tenant) ID and save them for later.
9. Click Certificates & secrets.
10. Click New client secret.
11. Enter a Description for the secret.
12. In Expires, select 24 months.
13. Click Add.
14. Copy the Value and save it for later. (Copy the value in the Value column, not the Secret ID column.)
    Note: This is the only time the key will be shown. If you lose the key, you can generate a new one.
15. Click API permissions.
16. Click Add a permission.
17. Click Microsoft Graph.
18. Click Delegated permissions.
19. Check the following permissions:
    • offline_access

    • openid
    • profile
    • Files.ReadWrite.All
    • Sites.Read.All
    • User.Read
20. Click Add permissions.
21. Click Grant admin consent. Granting admin consent for all users means they will not be shown a consent screen when they connect to the application to SharePoint or OneDrive.
22. Click Yes.

Step 2: Add the Azure App in Communifire

1. In Communifire, go to Control Panel > System > Integrations.
2. Click Add Connected Account.
3. Click Office 365.
4. Enter a display name. This name will appear in My Integrations when a user has connected their account.
5. Paste the tenant ID, application ID, and application secret.
6. Set where users can connect to SharePoint or OneDrive from:
   • Available in top level community: Users can connect to SharePoint or OneDrive in Browse > Files. (Note: If enabled, files must be set to On in Control Panel > System > Application Settings.)
   • Available in spaces: Space admins can add SharePoint or OneDrive in any space. Users can connect to SharePoint or OneDrive in the space Files section.
   • Available in Personal Connect: Users can connect to SharePoint or OneDrive in My Files.
7. Click Save Settings.

Step 3: Add SharePoint or OneDrive to the Files Section

Option 1: Add SharePoint or OneDrive in a specific space or the top level community

1. Navigate to one area depending on where you want users to connect to SharePoint or OneDrive:
   • To add SharePoint or OneDrive to the Files section of a specific space, go to Manage Space > External Drives.
   • To add SharePoint or OneDrive to Browse > Files, go to Control Panel > System > External Drives.
2. Click Add External Drives.
3. Click SharePoint or OneDrive.
4. Enter a Display name. The display name will appear when users open the SharePoint or OneDrive folder.
5. In Connected Account, select the Office 365 account you added.
6. Click Connect.
7. A new tab will open. Click Accept. You'll be returned to Communifire.
8. For SharePoint:
   1. Add the SharePoint site using one of the following options:
      • Click the folder icon to load a list of sites. Select the site from the menu.
      • Paste the site URL and click the refresh icon.
   2. In Drives, select Documents.
9. Click Save Settings.

Once settings are saved, users can connect to SharePoint or OneDrive in the Files section of the space or Browse > Files.

Option 2: Add SharePoint or OneDrive to My Files

If you enabled Available in Personal Connect, go to Control Panel > System > System Properties and set ShowNewMyAccountFilesView to true. Once this is enabled, users can connect to SharePoint or OneDrive in My Files.
