Email settings are for outgoing and incoming emails.
Note: If you use a Microsoft Exchange Server for email sending, you may receive the following exception in Communifire:
Email Sending Failed. Reason: Service not available, closing transmission channel. The server response was: 4.4.2 Message submission rate for this client has exceeded the configured limit
To fix this issue, execute the following command in Exchange Management PowerShell:
set-receiveconnector -identity connector -MessageRateLimit unlimited
Hello,
Since we are not using jhu.edu as our domain name, we really don't have mail servers for our Communifire site. Can you recommend a third party vendor to work with to setup the mail server?
Will Sendgrid work? Do their services provide everything required by Communifire?
Thanks for your help,
Guy
Hi Guy,
Is this for outgoing emails - emails sent from Communifire?
Or is this for incoming emails - emails Communifire should parse as forum replies and/or cases?
Grace
Hi Grace,
I'm pretty sure it is for inbound emails. It is for replying by email to discussions and other notifications. Rebecca Shore Please confirm.
Thanks,
Yes, incoming email settings are for replying to discussions or cases by email, which I was troubleshooting with Rebecca in this discussion. I'm checking with our team whether a third party service can be used for inbound emails.
Thank you!
We don't have a particular recommended third party email service, but Sendgrid would work for this. The catch-all account should be on a domain that you own (e.g. catchall@ourdomain.com) and that is exclusively for your Communifire site.
