You can add people to a space, bypassing the invite process. When you add people to a space using this tool, they will automatically be approved and have access to the space. Only Site Administrators have access to add people to spaces.
Filter by role.
Just to confirm -- there is no way at all to give permission to another role (i.e. space moderators) to be able to add people directly to the space?
Users can add people to a space if they have the Admin View permission in Control Panel > Content > Spaces > Permissions. You can create a new top level role and assign it to anyone who is a space moderator, then check the Admin View permission for that role in Space Permissions. They will not be able to enter the Control Panel, but they will see an Add People button in Manage Space > People.
When using this function, is it possible to select the role within the space you would like the users you are adding to have? It seems to auto-default to the "member" role. I would like some of the people I'm adding to fall under the "member" role and some others to fall under a different role within the space.
Any advice or suggestions?
Hey Kayla, it is not possible to select the space role when using this function. We suggest using the User Space Assignment Rules or Bulk Import Users . User Space Assignment Rules only trigger when the user is created or when their top level role changes, we hope to add real-time role changes in a future version.
