My Calendar: Create Event | Communifire Documentation

Create events in My Calendar for your personal appointments and meetings. Events in your calendar are private and viewable to only you. You can invite people to a personal event or Share Calendar to let other people see your personal events.

Note: To set default intervals for event reminders, go to Control Panel > System > System Properties and search for EventReminderIntervalInMinutesCSV. Update the value to your preferred intervals in minutes. The default value is "30,10", which sets reminders 30 minutes and 10 minutes before the event.

You can also select a time block in the calendar to begin creating an event. Fill in information about the event:

• Title: The event of the title
• When: Date and time of the event
  • All day: Check if the event takes place all day
  • Repeat: Check if the event repeats by a frequency you choose
• Where: Name of the location
• Address: Click Edit to add an address for the location
• Event Type: The category of the event, dependent on the space you are posting to
  • Click Add new event type... to add a new event type to the space
• Show as busy: Check this to show a busy block for this event in your calendar
• Featured: Make the event a featured post in the space

Details:

• Description: A description of the event
• Attach file: Add files relevant to the event. Drag and drop files into the area, or click Select Files.
• Color: The color this event will appear with on calendars

• Featured Image: An image that appears next to the event in the Activity Stream 
  Suggested aspect ratio: 4:3
• Tags: Keywords that can help others find your event. Use spaces to separate tags. Use an underscore or dash to combine separate words into one tag (e.g., Vacation-Policy). Click to see popular tags and tag groups.
• Who should attend?: Add information about who should attend the event
• Organization: The organization hosting the event
• Telephone number: The hosting organization's telephone number
• Website: The hosting organization's website

Availability: The availability calendar shows the availability of event guests and event resources.

Add Guests:

• Invite everyone in this space: Sends an invitation to all space members. You can edit the guest list in the section below.
• Add everyone in this space as going: Adds all space members as attendees. You can edit the guest list in the section below.

Add Resources:

• Select a resource type
• Click Add to use the resource
• Check resource availability in the Availability tab

Guests:

• Organizer: Check the event organizer. They'll receive notifications and emails when people RSVP to the event.
• External guests can invite others: Check this to allow external guests to forward the invite email to other people or to add invitees on the external RSVP page. New guests invited on the form will get an invitation email from the email associated with the event (the intranet email or your personal email).

How to Create an Event in Someone's Calendar
