Chat one-on-one with another person, or chat in a group of people. Exchange messages and files. Notifications ensure you never miss developments in your conversations. Use chat to effectively communicate and collaborate with your colleagues and teams.
Add People to Conversation
The chat popup appears in the lower right corner and displays a list of online users. Users that are online, away, and on do not disturb appear in the chat popup. Click a user to open a chat with them.
Admin You can enable or disable the chat popup in Control Panel > System > General Settings > Site Settings > Show chat popup.
Chat statuses let people know your availability. Regardless of your chat status, you will receive chat notifications. Chat statuses also appear in People Directory .
Online: Indicates you are available. You appear in the chat popup and the Online Now widget on My Activity Stream .
Away: Indicates you are not available. You appear in the chat popup and the Online Now widget on My Activity Stream.
Do not disturb: Indicates you are online but not available. You appear in the chat popup and the Online Now widget on My Activity Stream.
Invisible: Removes you from the chat popup and the Online Now widget on My Activity Stream.

Email notifications are sent for chat messages when you are not online and have email notifications enabled in Preferences . Note: If you have Communifire open in a browser or the app, email notifications will not be sent.
Download the Desktop Chat App to stay connected in chat even when you're not on the site. You can do all the things in the Desktop Chat App that you can do on the web application, such as send files, favorite conversations, and start new conversations. The Desktop Chat App is available for Windows and Mac OS X.
How to Post on a User's Wall
You can post to another user's Activity Stream if they're connected to you. They'll receive a notification about the wall post. Post on someone's wall to ask a question, start a conversation, or follow up on something.
Is there an easy way to search chats?
Search for a keyword, hit enter to open the search page, then add &types=60 to the end of the search URL. Example: https://myintranet.communifire.com/searchresults?keyword=meeting&types=60
