Installing Google Tag Manager

In order to take full advantage of this integration, you must have Google Tag Manager installed on your site. To install Google Tag Manager on your site, follow the instructions here, or in this video below. Google Tag Manager will provide you with two snippets, one that needs to be insert in the header and one in the footer of your site. These options can be found in Control Panel > General Settings > Header and Footer Scripts.

Installing Intercom

Depending on your exact use case, install Intercom following their instructions here. Once Intercom is installed, you will be able to add custom data about your users following the steps below.

Tracking custom data about your users

Using Intercom's ‘Custom Data Attributes’, you can track any user information in Intercom that’s important to your business.

By default, the following variables are available to use on Axero pages:

• CF_USERID - the user ID of the logged in user
• CF_USER_DISPLAY_NAME - the user display name of the logged in user
• CF_SPACEID - the spaceID of the page or content being viewed

You can make additional variables availe to use on Axero pages by accessing REST API: Get User or REST API: Get User's Profile Fields from the header script in General Settings:

1. Navigate to the Control Panel > System >General Settings
2. Expand the Header and Footer Scripts section and update the Header Script with the following code:

This code can be modified to add additional variables that are available on the user's profile. If you need assistance modifying this script for additional variables, reach out to the Axero support team for help.
