Lookup Field

Use a lookup field to allow users to add a link to any content on their profile. You can limit options available in the lookup field by content type, space, author, or tag.

Properties

Property Description
Field label The field label appears at the top of the field. Start typing and a list of matching text resources will appear. Select one to use or finish typing to create a new resource when the page is saved.
Content types Select the content types to appear in the lookup field results. Leave blank to include all content types.
Spaces Select the spaces to include content from. Leave blank to include content from all spaces.
Authors Select the authors whose content will appear in the lookup field results. Leave blank to include content by all authors.
Tags Start typing a tag to filter the content in the lookup field results. Leave blank to include content with any tag.
Number required The minimum number of values a user is required to provide.
Number permitted The maximum number of values a user is permitted to provide (typically just 1). Enter 0 for unlimited.
Display multiple results in
  • Numbered list
  • Bulleted list
  • Unbulleted List
  • Comma separated list
  • Semi-colon separated list

Field Help

Text to help users when completing the field.

Advanced

Field Description
Custom CSS class A CSS class to append to the field to apply custom styling.
Show label Check to show the field's label.
Exclude profile user Check to exclude the current user from the lookup field results.
Note: This option only appears when User is selected as the content type.
Default value The value pre-populated in the field if blank.
Hide if empty Check to hide the field on user profiles if it is empty.
Hide if default Check to hide the field on user profiles if it contains the default value.

Choose the roles that can view this field.
