How to Install .NET Framework 4.8

Follow the steps below to install .NET Framework version 4.8 on your server.

  1. Check Current .NET Framework Version

    • Press Windows Key + R, type regedit, and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
    • Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full
    • Check the Version value in the right pane. If it’s not 4.8 or newer, proceed with the installation.

  2. Download .NET Framework 4.8

  3. Install .NET Framework 4.8

    • Run the downloaded installer as an administrator.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
    • Restart your server when prompted to finalize the installation.

  4. Verify the Installation

    • Open the Registry Editor and return to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full
    • Ensure the Version value indicates that .NET Framework 4.8 is installed.
