I'd like to put in a feature request (or perhaps get some possible direction) on how to add an event date to the calendar widget on the homepage. Currently, we have have images created that mimic a calendar, but the "created" string that goes under the event title is a bit confusing for some people, this is especially true if we have a recurring event and can't change out the image each and every time it appears.

Give {{EventWhen}} a try in the template. We've got a new template coming in a service release to you for Events, but it sounds like you're already well on your way.
