Sharing files with other users

  • When you share files with others via email, the content title is used to name the attached files. As a result, users might receive files without file extensions if the titles were edited and won’t be able to open the files.

  • Hi Maxwell, Thanks for sharing that information. Let me forward this ticket our development team. Thanks, Raghav
  • Hi Maxwell,

Are we talking of the following options?

  • Yes, that is correct.

  • Hi Maxwell,

    Here is what we tested:

We shared a .pdf file with another user via email:

The user with whom the file was shared got this email:

When that user clicked the link received in the email, he was able to open the shared file.

Further, we edited the title of the same file from "Set of codes1.pdf" to "Codes.pdf" and shared it again with the same user via email. The edited title of the shared file got reflected in the email with the extension, and the receiver was able to open the shared file link.

After that we changed the title of that file to "Codes", even then the shared link in the email for the receiver was working.

Can you share any email link which got broken at your side after sharing the file?
