How can I disable the chat and IM feature?

    Hi,

    We would like to disable chat and IM.

    The "Enable chat" check box in General Settings > Site Settings is not checked.

    What else should I be changing to disable this feature?

    Hey Eric,

    That setting should be enough to disable chat. Where are you continuing to see chat features? Could you share a screenshot?

    Hey Grace,

    In my Activity Stream, I have a widget in the right column title Online Now. When I hover over someones avatar i get a message link that opens a chat with them

    Hey Eric,

    Follow the steps below to remove the Message button.

    1. Go to Control Panel > People > User Profiles > User hover card
    2. Delete the line <a id="MessageButton" class="btn" type="button" target="_blank" href="{{SiteURL}}/chat/user/{{UserID}}">{{Resource.GlobalMessageText}}</a>
    3. Click Save

    Hi Eric,

    You are right. The "message" button on user hover card should not be visible if the chat is disabled.

    Passing this issue to our development team.
