What is the purpose of the nonbreaking spaces that are added after @mention references?

I keep deleting them but wondering if there is a larger purpose why they are needed that I haven't discovered yet.

    Thanks,
    Maxwell

    Hey Maxwell,

Are you referring to the extra space that is added after an @mention?

  • mdrain

    Yes.

There isn't a specific reason. There should be a space after an @mention so text between words isn't so close.

I was just checking. The embedded nonbreaking spaces in the code can lead to some layout issues and doesn't look great when punctuation follows the @mention. I typically end up deleting them from the code.

    Thanks, Matt.
