I need to remove the sync file option from the edit your profile window for my users. They are not supposed to use this feature.

    Thanks,

    Max

    Hey Max,

Did you check folders to sync in Communifire?

    File Sync for Windows Desktop

  • mmartinsson

    Yes i did.

  • mtrujillo

Files are not enabled for the Top Level Community in your community. Space folders should show up in the folder above Top Level Community on your local desktop.

  • mmartinsson

Ok, but i dont understand what you mean. Should I enable files somewhere to make it work?

  • mtrujillo

Spaces folders appear in the same folder of Top Level Community, they do not appear inside the Top Level Community folder. You don't need to enable files for the Top Level Community.

Ok, i added a word file but it doesnt show up in my space.

To the left you see the folder i choose for file sync.

Did this ever get resolved?  I'm having the same issue as Max.

    Hey Jacqueline,

Did you add a file in a folder that corresponds to a Communifire folder in a certain space? For example, to sync a file to the Root folder in a Human Resources space, the file should be added to the ../Human Resources/Root folder on your computer.

The Communifire site location has to match the local folder location exactly?

That would mean my spaces have to match my network drives? For instance, I have a network drive called "STRATEGY" with a folder inside called "PROPOSALS".  How would I map that on the site?

  • gskamau

    Hey Jacqueline,

When you first set up File Sync, space folders are created in the local folder you selected to sync to. File Sync will automatically create sub-folders to match the folder configuration in each space. To add a local folder to Communifire using File Sync, just move the local folder into the correct sub-folder in the space folder.

Note that the "Root" folder is the top-most folder in Communifire, and you can't add a folder at the same level as the Root folder. Sub-folders should be in the Root folder at the least.

The space folders were not created in the local folders upon set.  Perhaps we can do a screenshare?  How we I contact you directly?

  • gskamau

    Hey Jacqueline,

Could you confirm first that space folders are checked in Preferences > Sync Folders?
