By any chance, is there a way to check for broken links on a Communifire site?

  • Foster

    Hi Aaron,

Can you specify what you mean by broken links?

    Thanks,
    Foster

  • arester

Links that throw a 404 error.

    Hi Aaron,

We do not have a link checker. There might be a 3rd party provider that has the capability to login to your site with credentials, then automatically crawl all of the links that the user has access to.

    Thanks,
    Foster

As a note, If you do use 3rd party software that will login and click every link, automatically, please do this with great care and attention—be very careful as there is great risk for potential data loss. You want to make sure the user account that it is logging in as does not have delete/edit permissions, and does not have access to the Control Panel or any Space Control Panels. It should have view permissions only.

I'd like to submit this as a feature request -- can you remind me of the best way to do so? Thanks!

  • Foster

    Hi Aaron,

You can do this by posting in our Suggestions and Feedback forum. We would encourage you to post there, as our developers often use it when considering new implementations to add to Communifire.

    Thank you!
