Content notifications are helpful when you want to notify users (or a subset of users) about a specific piece of content. This can be because you have an important update you want to remind users of, or you are trying to drive interest in having people participate in an upcoming activity.
Notifications for content are configured on the specific piece of content that you want to notify users about. We have many other Notification options in addition to Content notification, and we encourage you to read our Notifications Wiki for more information on those.
Axero has numerous channels to notify users about content activity. Send Slack notifications, automated emails, wall posts, or intranet alerts.
Here's how it works!
1. Click the gear icon in your content and click Notify People.
2. Select one or more options to send notifications: Notification, Email, Wall Post, Slack, or Teams.
3. Choose as many options as you like and fill in the necessary information.
4. Select your recipients to receive the notification. You can filter your audience based on persona, profile fields, spaces, and roles or select individual people manually. For each option, you can add criteria by pressing the "+1" button:
Note: The Recipients tab will appear once you have entered text into at least one of the notification tabs.
Personas: Any user with any of the chosen personas will receive the message.
Profile Fields: Any user who matches all criteria will receive a message.
Select People: Choose specific users you want to receive messages.
Spaces: All members of the spaces chosen will receive the message.
Roles: Any user with chosen roles will receive the message.
5. The Recipients tab will filter the users to notify based on the criteria chosen. The resulting users matching will be displayed in the corresponding window.
6. Click Send after you have filled in the necessary information and chosen your recipient criteria.
Site Administrators with access to your control panel can determine which sitewide roles can notify your users. Click Content > Notification Permissions. Make adjustments and save.
1. Type the message you want your recipients to receive as a notification. This message will appear as a push notification in the community platform and the bell notification.
2. Click Submit. Your recipients will receive your notification.
1. Write the subject and body of the email. You can use {{{Title}}}, {{{Summary}}}, and {{ContentURL}} tokens in your email body to include details about the content.
To spread the word about your content, notify members in various spaces via Wall Posts. The wall post will automatically have a link and summary for the content below your message. Click Submit to post the message.
Note: This may trigger an email depending on the space settings.
