Welcome to the Axero integration guide for OneLogin. This documentation provides step-by-step instructions to establish a secure and efficient connection between Axero and your OneLogin organization, enabling enterprise-grade Single Sign-On (SSO) capabilities and automated user provisioning.
OneLogin is a leading identity and access management (IAM) platform that provides centralized control over user authentication, authorization, and access management across your organization's applications and resources.
Axero offers two comprehensive integration paths with OneLogin:
Single Sign-On (SSO) allows users to access multiple applications with a single set of credentials. With OneLogin's SAML integration, users can securely log in and out of Axero using their OneLogin credentials. This feature centralizes user access management and enhances security.
User provisioning refers to the process of creating and managing user accounts. With SAML, provisioning occurs when users first log in to Axero. With SCIM, user accounts are automatically created, updated, and deactivated based on changes in OneLogin. This reduces administrative overhead and ensures up-to-date user access.
User creation establishes new accounts in Axero. In SAML, accounts are created when users log in for the first time. With SCIM, user accounts are automatically created in Axero when added to OneLogin, enabling instant access.
User deprovisioning removes or deactivates accounts. SAML requires manual action in Axero, while SCIM automatically reflects user deactivation or removal in OneLogin.
Default attributes such as First Name, Last Name, and Email are synchronized with SAML and SCIM integrations. These attributes ensure consistent user data across platforms.
Custom attributes enable unique fields for specialized use cases, like Personas. These attributes are supported with both SAML and SCIM integrations.
The User's Manager field synchronizes supervisory information, accurately representing organizational hierarchies in Axero. Both SAML and SCIM support this feature.
The Hire Date attribute tracks employee start dates. With SAML and SCIM, this data can be synchronized and used in Personas for new-hire cohorts.
OneLogin Roles (Groups) are collections of users that can be used for access management. In the SAML integration, roles are synchronized to Axero via SAML Assertions during login. With SCIM, roles are synchronized using Group Provisioning, enabling real-time updates when changes occur in OneLogin. These roles can be used with Personas to manage space membership in Axero.
Profile images can be synchronized automatically from OneLogin's user profile photos (supporting JPG, PNG, and GIF formats up to 5MB) through SAML and SCIM integrations. Synchronization occurs during user provisioning and subsequent profile updates for SCIM implementations, while SAML-only implementations sync during login events.
Users also have the option to upload images manually through Axero's interface, or images can be managed programmatically using Axero's Add User Image API endpoint.
Sync schedules dictate data updates between OneLogin and Axero. SAML updates occur during login, while SCIM provides real-time synchronization for continuous updates.
