Beta versions of the Communifire Desktop Chat app are available to download for Windows and Mac OS X. The apps have been tested on the following platform versions:
Note that these are not final release versions of the Communifire Desktop Chat app. We have made the apps available for customers to try them out and give us feedback. Please report any bugs or issues to the Axero support team here. Download the beta versions using the following links:
Download Mac OS X Communifire Chat App
Download Windows Communifire Chat App
Note: During the first run, you may see a warning saying the following:
Communifire.app cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.
To fix this warning, go to > System Preferences > Security & Privacy.
Download and unzip the zip file then double click the installer.
A shortcut will be created on the desktop that you can use to launch the app.
Enter your Communifire community URL along with https:// (e.g., https://your-community.communifire.com).
Enter your login information and click Sign in.
You can do all the things in the desktop chat app that you can do on the web application, such as send files, favorite conversations, and start new conversations.
This error message tends to appear in new versions of OS X. To fix this error, reboot the Mac. If you still see the error after rebooting, delete the app then download and install it again.
When will the final version be available?
We just received feedback from our staff that they were worried about the safety of this app as it hasn't been updated since 2017. Any updates on this??
The Desktop Chat app is just an empty client, and it loads the latest files from the site itself. The Desktop Chat app is safe to use.
