Notes

• Button name: On some edit forms, such as a published video, the button reads Update instead of Save and Publish.
• General: When you edit the content title:
  • The content title is automatically updated everywhere the content is @mentioned.
  • Links to the content automatically redirect to the renamed page. Space CMS pages are the exception: changing a CMS page title also changes its URL Stub, and links to the old address then show a not-found page. To keep them working, set the URL Stub back to its old value before saving.
• Send Update Notifications to Followers: The "Send update notifications to followers" toggle is on by default when you edit content. The SendUpdateNotifications system property, under Control Panel > System > System Properties, sets that default. It does not control whether the toggle appears.
• The toggle is hidden where a content approval workflow is active. In a space with a workflow enabled for that content type, the notification goes out when the approver publishes, not when you save. That is why the editor does not show the option there. This applies to articles, blogs, ideas, videos, and wikis alike. If the toggle appears in one space and not another, check Manage Space > Workflow before looking anywhere else.
• The toggle also does not appear when you are adding a new language version of the content.
• Cases: Cases can't be edited in Manage Space or the Control Panel. Edit a case by searching for it or from My Content.
• CMS pages: CMS pages must be edited from Manage Space or the Control Panel.
• Discussion replies: Edit a reply from the discussion page. Space administrators and moderators can also edit replies in Manage Space: click Discussions, then the reply count for the discussion.
• Events: Events can also be edited from the calendar. Open the calendar, click the event, click the gear icon > Full Edit or Quick Edit.
• Files: Files can't be edited in Manage Space or the Control Panel. Edit a file by searching for it or from My Content.
• Photos:
  • To edit a photo, first click the album to open it, then click the options icon for the photo.
  • When editing a photo, you can crop or rotate it. You can also upload a new image.
