When you deactivate a user:
To deactivate a user:
To deactivate multiple users:
Important: If you deactivate a user and reassign their content to anonymous or another user, then later activate the user, the user's content will not be reassigned back to them. The content will remain attributed to anonymous or the other user.
When deactivating a user, you must choose what happens to their content. The following options are available:
All content is assigned to the system Anonymous user. This is a built-in system user that you log in as. Use this option when you do not want to attribute the content to any specific person.
If content is reassigned to the System Anonymous User, administrators can update the display name and profile information associated with that account.
You can open the System Anonymous User profile:
By clicking Anonymous under any reassigned content item
By navigating directly to: https://yoursite.com/people/Anonymous
https://yoursite.com/people/Anonymous
Once on the profile page, click Edit Profile, make the necessary changes, and save.
Important: Changes apply globally. All content reassigned to Anonymous will display the updated profile information.
Transfer the deleted user's content to another user. This is useful when responsibilities are being handed over to a colleague or manager.
Content reassigned to the selected user:
Important: Some content types have special handling rules and are not transferred to the selected user. See the sections below for details.
Content always reassigned to Anonymous (even when selecting a specific user):
Content permanently removed:
Content retained without changes:
Profile field references: You can clear or select a new user for any profile Lookup Field that references the deleted user, such as the Reports to field.
The user is deactivated. If the user is reactivated later, their content attribution is fully restored. This option is only available when deactivating (not permanently deleting) a user.
The user's content is permanently deleted.
Warning: This action cannot be undone. All content created by this user will be permanently lost.
