How to Request Your Data Backup

Need a copy of your site's data? We're happy to provide it! Here's how the process works:

1. Submit your request: Click here to open a support case and let us know you'd like a data backup.
2. We'll prepare your files: Our team will gather your data and send you two files:
   • Database Backup (.bak file): This contains all your site's structured data, including user information, posts, comments, and other content stored in the database.
   • Files Backup (ZIP folder): This is a compressed folder with all the files you've uploaded to your site—things like documents, attachments, photos, videos, and other media files.

What to Expect When You Receive Your Backup

It's helpful to know how your backup files will be organized so you can work with them effectively:

• File naming: The files in your backup will be named using content IDs, which are numerical identifiers (for example, "12345.pdf" or "67890.jpg"). These numbers correspond to how the files are tracked in the database, rather than the original descriptive names you may have given them when uploading.
• Flat file structure: All your files will be in a single folder without any subfolders or organization by spaces, departments, or categories. This means you won't see the same folder structure that exists on your live site; everything will be in one place.
• Why this format? This is how the data is stored to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The database backup contains the information that links these content IDs to their original names, locations, and metadata.

If you need to identify specific files or restore the organizational structure, you may need to cross-reference the content IDs in the files backup with the information in your database backup.
