Badges encourage people to take part in your intranet. You can create badges that people earn by completing specific actions. A badge challenge sets out the actions a user must complete to earn the badge.
Someone receives the badge the moment they complete the last action in the challenge. There is no approval step and nothing to run: the badge appears on their profile as soon as they finish.
Only actions taken after the challenge is created count toward it. Someone who did all of those things last month does not receive the badge after the fact.
If somebody clearly qualifies but never went through the steps, an administrator can award the badge directly: open their profile, click Recognize, choose the recognition program, pick the badge, and click Submit.
Badge challenges are not the same as Getting Started. The onboarding steps under Getting Started and the actions in a badge challenge are separate features, and neither counts toward the other. Someone can be 100% complete on Getting Started and still hold no challenge badge. That is expected, not a fault.
