Content expiration retires content on a date you choose. Select the date and time to expire content, and whether the content should be visible or hidden after expiration. You'll be notified when the content expires, and can then update or delete the content.

To enable content expiration in the top level community:
When content expires, the content author and space Moderators receive a notification. (If the content is top level content, site Moderators receive a notification.)
Expired content that is still visible displays a message at the top saying the content has expired.
Expired content that is hidden after expiration will not be visible in the space or appear in search. Hidden expired content can be accessed in Manage Space .
NOTE: Only users that are Site Admin, Space Admin, Space Moderator, or Content Author can see expired content.
The per-content-type lists in Manage Space do not single out expired items. Opening Manage Space > Articles, or the equivalent for any other type, shows the space's content with no expired column and no expired filter, so there is no way to review what has expired from there. Use the expiration report instead, which lists expired content and content due to expire.
In Manage Space: Expired Content , you can see a list of expired content and upcoming expiring content. The lists can be exported as CSV files.
Do not use a past expiration date to hold back unfinished work. Expiration is for retiring content that has been published, not for staging a draft. Use Save as Draft instead, which keeps the item unpublished until you are ready. An item that has already expired stays reachable by its author from My Content, so it is not hidden from the person who wrote it.
You can set an expiration date for the following content types.
