Widgets are the blocks you drag onto a page. Each one does one job: a list of content, people, or spaces, rich text, raw HTML, an embedded frame, and so on.

Manage a Widget

After adding a widget to a Page Builder page, you can edit, duplicate, or remove it.

Click the gear icon on the widget to open the available actions.

• Edit properties opens the widget settings, where you can update its configuration and display options.
• Duplicate creates a copy of the widget with the same configuration and content. The copy appears immediately below the original widget in the same column, and you can drag it elsewhere on the page. Duplicating a widget copies only that widget, not the widgets beside it or the row that holds it.
• Remove removes the widget from the page.

A Widget duplicated message confirms the copy. If the widget cannot be copied, Error: Widget not duplicated appears instead.

Duplicating a saved widget produces an independent copy rather than another instance of the saved widget, so editing the copy leaves the saved widget, and every page using it, unchanged.

How to Add an Icon to a Widget Header

You can add an icon to a widget header to represent the widget and provide visual interest.

Step 1: Identify which template the widget is using

1. Go to Control Panel > System > Page Builder.
2. Edit the page.
3. On the widget, click the gear icon > Edit Properties.
4. Click the Template tab.
5. Note the name of the selected template.
6. Click Cancel.
7. Click All pages.

Step 2: Edit the Page Builder template

1. Go to Control Panel > System > Page Builder Templates.
2. In the Widget Type menu, select the widget type.
3. Click the template.
4. In the editor, find {{{WidgetTitle}}}.
5. In front of {{{WidgetTitle}}} , add {{#if IconCSSClass}}<em class="{{IconCSSClass}}"></em> {{/if}}
   
6. Click Save Template.

Step 3: Select an icon for the widget

1. Click System > Page Builder.
2. Edit the Page Builder page.
3. On the widget, click the gear icon > Edit Properties.
4. Click Advanced.
5. In Icon, select an icon. Use the search to quickly find an icon.
6. Click Save Widget.
7. Click Publish changes.
8. Click Go to page.

Note: Once you've completed Step 2 for a certain template, you can add an icon to the widget header anytime you use that template, as detailed in Step 3. Step 2 only needs to be completed once per template.
