This page describes the older Email Templates editor, which is what a site sees unless an administrator has switched the newer one on. If your site uses Email Template Manager the screens differ; Email Template Manager explains the difference and how to tell which you have.

Axero generates many emails, such as confirm emails, event notifications, daily digests, weekly digests, and much more. You can modify the verbiage and look of each template in the Control Panel.

Do not delete or rename default system email templates. This could result in system instability.

Every template holds two bodies, an HTML one and a plain-text one. When the content type is Multipart, Axero sends both of them in the same message and the recipient's email program decides which to show. It normally shows the HTML one, and shows the plain-text one instead when the HTML body is empty or its markup is broken by something as small as an unclosed tag. Axero does not check the HTML body before sending, so no error is raised and the message still arrives, just unformatted.

So a template that suddenly starts arriving as plain text is a signal to check its HTML body, not a sign that email is broken across the site. If several unrelated templates lose their formatting at once, that is a different problem and worth a support case.

How to Customize Digest Emails

The digest emails also use system properties to generate repeated sections of the digest. You can customize the different sections of the activity emails by editing these system properties. See How to Customize the Weekly Digest and How to Customize the Daily Digest.

How to Send a Test Digest Email

You can send a test digest email to a user by editing the WeeklyDigestEmail or DailyDigestEmail template in Control Panel > System > Email Templates. At the bottom of the page, start typing a person's name in the search and select a user. Then click Send Test Email.

How to Add an Image

You can add an image by selecting Insert > Image
