This page covers the older Email Templates editor. A site uses it unless an administrator has switched on the newer one. If your site uses Email Template Manager, the screens differ; Email Template Manager explains the difference and how to tell which one you have.

Axero sends many kinds of email, such as confirmation emails, event notifications, and daily and weekly digests. Each one comes from a template, and you can change the wording and look of any template in the Control Panel.

Do not delete or rename default system email templates. This could result in system instability.

Every template holds two bodies, an HTML one and a plain-text one. When the content type is Multipart, Axero sends both bodies in the same message, and the recipient's email program decides which one to show. It normally shows the HTML body. It shows the plain-text body instead when the HTML body is empty or its markup is broken, even by something as small as an unclosed tag. Axero does not check the HTML body before sending. No error appears, and the message still arrives, just unformatted.

If one template suddenly starts arriving as plain text, check its HTML body. It is not a sign that email is broken across the site. If several unrelated templates lose their formatting at once, that is a different problem, and it's worth opening a support case.

How to Customize Digest Emails

Besides the template, the digest emails use system properties (settings an administrator can edit) to build their repeated sections. To customize those sections, edit the system properties. See How to Customize the Weekly Digest and How to Customize the Daily Digest.

How to Send a Test Digest Email

To send a test digest email to one person, open the WeeklyDigestEmail or DailyDigestEmail template for editing in Control Panel > System > Email Templates. At the bottom of the page, start typing the person's name in the search box and select them. Then click Send Test Email.

How to Add an Image

To add an image, select Insert > Image.
