Edit Localized Content: Replace or Change Static Text | Axero Documentation

Localized Content lets you translate or replace the static text in the Axero user interface (its built-in labels and messages) with text of your choice. Use it to swap the default terms for the ones your company or organization uses. For example, you might change Spaces to Teams, Connections to Friends, or People to Co-workers.

If you have translated your resources before, also select the culture (language) whose text you are changing.

Tip: Click Advanced next to the Search button for options that narrow your search. You can search by:

• Search both resource keys and values: This option searches everything. This option is the default.
• Search resource value only: The "Value" is the text that appears on the site. This is the best option if you are non-technical.
• Search resource key only: "Key" is a technical term used by developers. The key is the unique name of a resource. If you don't know the exact key of the resource, search for the value instead.
• Exact match: Returns only text that matches your word or phrase exactly as you typed it, in the same order, with no other terms.

If your word or phrase is found in the database, it appears in the search results grid.

Tip: A phrase search usually returns only that phrase. A single word may return many results, and you then have to look through them for the text you want. You can also go back and use the Advanced tools to narrow your search.

Enter your new text in the Value field.

Do not change the Key or the Culture Name, this will cause system issues and errors.

One value can appear in several unrelated places. The same piece of text is often reused across the interface, so changing it changes every place at once. The value behind "Content", for example, labels the Content tab in Analytics, entries in the Control Panel menus, and the Content event type in the webhook editor. Rename it to something like "Documents" and all three change together, including screens you never meant to touch.

Before you edit a value, search for the value itself and read the whole result list. The list shows how many places use it, so you can decide whether you want to rename all of them. If you don't, this screen has no way to change only one of them.

The reverse is worth knowing too. Sometimes a menu entry, a dropdown option, or an Analytics report on your site has a different name from the one in the documentation. The usual cause is a renamed localized value, not a missing or moved feature. To find it, search here with both keys and values selected, then edit the Value back.

Note: Text cannot be changed in the mobile app.
