You can download a CSV file (a spreadsheet saved as comma-separated text) of your users and their data from the Control Panel. It includes all user profile fields and preferences. It lists active users only; banned, deactivated, and pending users are left out.
Sample CSV file:
Note: You can use the CSV file in Bulk Import Users to change users' profile data, such as first name, last name, and address. The file also has columns that aren't profile fields, such as Joined and Last Login. Remove those columns, and any others you don't need, before you use the file in Bulk Import, or the import can fail with errors.
Opening the CSV file in Excel
Import the file rather than double-clicking it. Importing opens it reliably on any version of Axero. Double-clicking leaves Excel to detect the layout automatically, and that is what goes wrong. On most machines the columns land correctly, but a row can shift one column to the right, and saving the file again strips the quoting it depends on.
Two things about the file explain the symptoms people see. First, it is written in UTF-16 (a text encoding). A profile field might hold a character outside the older Windows character set, such as an emoji or a musical note. If that character is followed by a comma, double-clicking the file can push that one person's row a column to the right. Every other row looks fine and the file is valid, but only the import steps below open it correctly. Second, its first line reads sep=,, which tells Excel what separates the columns and is not corruption. Google Sheets and a Power Query import show it as an unexplained extra row at the top; it is safe to delete.
