Your notifications provide you with real-time alerts about activity and updates that are important to you. Notifications give you quick access to everything important to you so you can take action the moment it's needed. Never miss an important update again.
Notifications are real-time. If desired, you can also receive Daily Digests and Weekly Digests.
You can receive notifications through three channels:
You can view your notifications in page format by going to My Activity Stream > Notifications.
You can track your notifications using the bell icon in the header at the top of your screen. When a new notification comes in, you are alerted in two ways:
No matter what page you are on or what you are doing in Axero, your Notifications feed provides real-time updates about news and information that is important to you.
When you're ready to view and interact with your notifications, click the bell icon in the header to open a dropdown list of recent updates. Click any item to open the related content in a new tab. When you open a notification by clicking on it, it is automatically marked as read and removed from the unread count.
To view all notifications, click the external link icon in the top-right corner of the dropdown. This opens the full Notifications page in a new tab.
You can choose which notifications to mark as read or unread by clicking the circle icon on the right of each item. Unread notifications are highlighted and display a solid orange circle on the right. Clicking the circle removes the highlight, marks the item as read, and updates the notification count on the bell icon. Clicking it again will return the notification to unread. You can toggle this at any time to mark notifications as unread again.
To mark multiple notifications as read at once and reset the bell count, select the notifications using the circle icons on the right and click the Mark All as Read button at the top of the dropdown.
Email notifications can be sent to the email address associated with your profile. Typically, email notifications follow the formatting below:
The Apple and Google Apps send push notifications for all notifications and chat messages you receive when you're offline. Notifications appear on your device's lock screen and in the notification bar.
Axero offers Slack and Microsoft Teams integrations to push notifications about a specific piece of content to your users.
Read our Notifications for Content documentation to learn how to configure specific roles to send these notifications and what options are available.
NOTE:
You can receive notifications for many activities, including when new content is added, when workflow items are assigned to you, or when someone tags you in a message.
Below is the complete set of notifications that are available:
Users can customize the type of notifications they receive if the Notifications widget has been added. This setting is not enabled by default, and site administrators can activate it by:
1. Going to Control Panel > System Properties > Enabling the EnableNotificationPreferences property.
2. Adding the Notifications widget to the default User Preferences page. Please see the Edit User Preferences Page for documentation on how to add the built-in widgets.
If enabled, users can change their preferences as outlined in the User Level Permissions documentation.
Axero supports multiple channels for notifying users about content activity, including Slack notifications, automated emails, wall posts, and intranet alerts. You can set up these by reading the Notifications for Content documentation.
Admin Generate a notification for everyone in your intranet by checking Send Notifications when creating a new Dynamic Property in Control Panel > System > Dynamic Properties > Add Dynamic Property.
NOTES:
1. Type the message you want your recipients to receive as a notification. This message will appear as a push notification on the community platform and as a bell notification.
2. Click Submit. Your recipients will receive your notification.
1. Write the subject and body of the email. You can use {{{Title}}}, {{{Summary}}}, and {{ContentURL}} tokens in your email body to include details about the content.
To spread the word about your content, notify members in various spaces via Wall Posts. The wall post will automatically include a link and summary for the content below your message. Click Submit to post the message.
NOTE: This may trigger an email, depending on space settings.
How to Make an Announcement
In this guide, you'll learn how to make announcements using a variety of methods to your entire intranet as well as to groups of people. Axero has multiple options for sending announcements to your entire intranet.
