Reply to a discussion to provide an answer or further a conversation. Discussions and answers become part of your searchable knowledge base for future reference.

How to Quote a Discussion

Quote part of a discussion in your reply, and the section you're responding to is included in your reply. Use quoting to clarify what you're responding to or bring back a thread of conversation.

1. On the post reply page, highlight the text you want to quote.
   
2. Click Quote.
   
3. The highlighted text is inserted into the rich editor as a block quote.
   
4. Fill out the rest of your reply, then click Post.

Configure Notifications for Forum Subscribed Users

To configure whether forum-subscribed users receive notifications for reply posts, use the SendForumPostNotificationToForumSubscribedUser system property. Set the value to true to notify subscribed users of reply post creation, or to false to only notify subscribed users when a new topic is added.

To adjust this setting:

1. Go to Control Panel > System > System Properties.
2. Search for SendForumPostNotificationToForumSubscribedUser.
3. Update the value as needed.
4. Click Save.
