Axero keeps a history of edits to all content within the platform. Each time you edit content, a new version is created. You can view the version history, compare versions, and restore a previous version. Supported content types: articles, blogs, files, ideas, and wikis.
To view version history:
You will see a list of all versions of the content.
To view a previous version:
To compare the versions, check the two versions you'd like to compare.
Click Compare checked versions.
Now you are in compare mode. The green highlighted text is new text that has been added, and the red highlighted text has been removed.
To restore a previous version:
When a version is restored, it becomes the current version of the content. The previously current version is not lost; it is saved in Version History as a prior version.
In Version History, you can assign names to versions to make them easier to identify.
Each version is created with a default name based on its timestamp. You can assign a custom name, update it later, or reset it back to the default.
To name a version:
The updated name appears in the Name column in Version History, making it easier to identify specific changes.
Once a version has a custom name, you can update it by selecting Rename this version from the same menu.
To reset the version name, select Reset version name. When you reset the version name, the custom name is removed and the version returns to its original default name.
Authors and editors can make historical versions of content available to readers. By default, only the current published version is visible.
To make a historical version available:
Open Version History.
Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to a historical version.
Select Show to readers.
Note: The current version is always visible to readers. Historical versions must be individually made available.
When one or more historical versions have been made available, readers will see a version menu on the content page.
Click the version menu to view the available historical versions.
The menu displays all historical versions that have been shared with readers. If custom version names have been assigned, those names are displayed in the menu.
Select a version to open it.
When viewing a historical version, a notification appears indicating that a newer version of the content is available.
Click View most recent version to return to the current published version.
Historical versions can be hidden from readers at any time by selecting Hide to readers in Version History. Hidden versions no longer appear in the reader version menu.
