To rate a piece of content, click a star at the top of the content.

Average Rating Calculation

Axero computes ratings for content using a Bayesian model. An item with only a few ratings can swing a long way on one vote, so Axero blends the item's own average with the average of every item of the same content type. The more ratings an item gets, the closer its score moves to its own average.

Ratings are calculated using the following formula:

(WR) = (v ÷ (v + m)) × R + (m ÷ (v + m)) × C 

• WR: weighted rating
• R: the average rating for this item
• v: the number of ratings this item has
• m: the average number of ratings per item, across items of the same content type that have at least one rating
• C: the average of every rating given to items of the same content type
