Managing Journey Participants | Axero Documentation

Admins can manually control who participates in a journey. Once a journey is activated, users can be added or removed at any time through the Manage Users tab.

Enroll Users in a Journey

Journeys must be activated before users can be added. Once active, a Manage Users tab appears in the journey editor.  Enrolled users will immediately begin the journey and progress through the steps as defined in the builder. 

To enroll users:

1. From the Journey Manager, click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to a drafted journey and select Activate Journey.
   
   

2. A prompt will appear confirming that users will be enrolled and that messages will be sent according to the journey setup. Click Yes to proceed.
   
   

3. After activation, click the three-dot menu (⋮) and select Manage Users to open the user management view.
   
   

4. Click Add Users to open the user selection window.
   
   

5. Use the + Add button to add individuals, or select multiple users and click Add Selected. Use the search bar to find specific users, or browse additional users using the pagination controls at the bottom of the window.

6. Click Save Journey to confirm enrollment.

Removing Participants

Admins can remove users from a journey at any time. When removed, users lose access to all journey steps. If re-enrolled later, they will start from the beginning.

To remove a participant:

1. Go to the Manage Users tab in the active journey.

2. Find the user you want to remove in the list.
   
   

3. Click the red trash can icon next to their progress bar.

4. Confirm the removal in the prompt.

5. Click Save Journey to apply changes.

The user will be removed from the journey and will no longer appear in the participant list.

Tracking User Progress

To see how each user is progressing through the journey:

1. Go to Manage Users.
   
   
   

2. Click on a user’s progress bar or name to open their detailed view.
   

This displays their start date, current step, time in step, and overall progress.

Note:

• If a journey is paused, no new users can be enrolled. Existing participants remain in place and will resume progress once the journey is active again. 

• If a journey is stopped, all participants are removed, and the journey returns to Draft mode.

• If a user is removed and later re-enrolled, they will start at the beginning of the journey.
