# REST API: Add Space Members to Event

[Open API Guide](https://my.axerosolutions.com/spaces/5/axero-documentation/api-guide?id=42832)
PUT/api/events/\{EventID\}/attendees

Add every member of the event's space to the event as invitees or attendees. Members already on the event's list keep their current status. For an event that is not in a space, the call adds every user on the site, and only a site administrator can make it.

## Request

### Request Header
| Header | Required | Value | Description |
| :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- |
| `Authorization` | YES | `Bearer YOUR_TOKEN` | Bearer token for the authenticated user. [Learn how to create Bearer tokens](https://my.axerosolutions.com/spaces/5/axero-documentation/wiki/view/108973/creating-bearer-tokens) |
### Required Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Required | Location | Description |
| :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- |
| `EventID` | Integer | YES | Path | Unique ID of the event |
| `IsAttendee` | Boolean | YES | Query | True: add space members as event attendees. False: add space members as event invitees. Any value other than true or false, including 1, answers 400. |
## Example

### Request Header

```
Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN
```

### Request URL

`https://your-site.com/api/events/129/attendees?IsAttendee=true`

### Success Response

```
true
```

### Error Response

```
{
  "Message": "The requested resource does not support http method 'PUT'."
}
```

## Error Handling

| Status Code | Likely Cause | Next Action |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| 400 Bad Request | IsAttendee is not true or false, or EventID is not an integer \(The request is invalid.\). | Send true or false for IsAttendee and the event's numeric ID. |
| 405 Method Not Allowed | IsAttendee is missing, so the request matches nothing the API can run. The body is a Message saying the resource does not support PUT. | Send IsAttendee. |
| 401 Unauthorized | Missing or invalid Bearer token | Check token validity. [Learn how to create Bearer tokens →](https://my.axerosolutions.com/spaces/5/axero-documentation/wiki/view/108973/creating-bearer-tokens) |
| 403 Forbidden | The caller cannot view the event, or may not invite people to it. For an event in a space, inviting takes a site administrator, the event's creator, or the Invite People or Admin Entity Update permission on events in that space. When the event's CanInviteOthers is true, any caller who can view the event can add its space's members. For an event at the top level of the site, only a site administrator can make this call. | Call as a user who can invite people to the event. |
| 500 Server Error | No event has that EventID. The body is empty. | Check the EventID. |

## Rate Limits

While Axero does not enforce hard rate limits by default, we recommend the following best practices to ensure optimal performance:

- **Sustained Request Rate:** Do not exceed 5 API calls per second
- **Sequential Processing:** Wait for each request to complete before sending the next in automated workflows
- **Concurrent Connections:** If parallel processing is required, limit to 3 or fewer simultaneous requests
- **Response Timeout:** Ensure API responses complete within 15 seconds during testing

Axero may implement temporary rate restrictions if excessive API usage affects overall site performance. For high-volume integrations, contact Axero to discuss your requirements.
