# User Section Permissions
User section permissions control who can manage users and user-related features in the Control Panel.
| **Permission** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| Create | Allow the user to add a user |
| View User Profile | Allow the user to view user profiles |
| Edit | Allow the user to edit their profile.
This permission also decides whether **Edit Profile**, **Change Password**, and **Preferences** appear in the person's own account menu. Removing Edit hides all three. |
| Moderate | Allow the user to manage pending users, banned users, and banned IPs |
| Send Bulk Email | Allow the user to send mass emails \(using [Mass Email](https://my.axerosolutions.com/spaces/5/axero-documentation/wiki/view/22073/mass-email "Mass Email") or [Send Email](https://my.axerosolutions.com/spaces/5/axero-documentation/wiki/view/22070/send-email "Send Email")\) |
| Roles | Allow the user to manage roles, assign roles, and manage [Getting Started Steps](https://my.axerosolutions.com/spaces/5/axero-documentation/wiki/view/22116/getting-started-steps "Getting Started Steps") |
| Manage Personas | Allow the user to create, view, edit, and delete Site and Space Personas, including multi-space Personas |
| Ranks | Allow the user to edit point levels |
| Manage Profiles | Allow the user to manage the pages and areas in Control Panel > People > [User Profiles](https://my.axerosolutions.com/spaces/5/axero-documentation/wiki/view/26428/user-profiles "User Profiles") |
| Points | Allow the user to edit points and [Set User Points](https://my.axerosolutions.com/spaces/5/axero-documentation/wiki/view/22067/set-user-points "Set User Points") |
| Invite People | Allow the user to invite people. A person who registers from an invitation that hasn't expired is activated straight away, without waiting for approval. |
| Delete Self | Allow the user to delete their own profile |
| Feature | Allow the user to mark users as featured |
| User Section View | Allow the user to view the Manage People section.
This permission also allows people to:
- Change their username
- View private profiles
|
| Update All People | Allow the user to edit any profile and any user's preferences |
| Delete All People | Allow the user to delete any users. This applies to site administrators too: if the box is unchecked for the SiteAdministrator role, site administrators don't see **Delete** in Manage People. |
| Message All | Allow the user to [Chat](https://my.axerosolutions.com/spaces/5/axero-documentation/wiki/view/21497/chat "Chat") with anyone, regardless of their personal messaging preferences \(part of "Admin only" group\) |
| Manage Permissions | Allow the user to edit user section permissions |
| Log In As User | Allow the user to sign in as another user |
## Setting User Section Permissions
1. Click the gear icon > **Control Panel** > **People** > **User Section Permissions**.
2. Check or uncheck permissions.
3. Click **Save Permissions**.
